OVERVIEW

Central to The Early School program is the development and enhancement of cognitive, linguistic and numerical skills. Equally important is the development of interpersonal skills that will help ensure smooth, grounded and productive navigation through all the years of learning that lie ahead.

School activities are designed carefully to create the most positive learning experience and to promote effective and satisfying interaction with both peers and adults. Children are provided with the support and direction that foster self-esteem, emotional intelligence and confidence. This combination of enriched educational and relationship-building experiences prepares them to successfully face challenges they encounter while at Temple B’nai Abraham and beyond.

Children in the program are welcomed by a professional staff, whose training has prepared them to respond to each child as a unique learner. Every child enters this world with multiple intelligences and learning modes, which dictate how best to involve them in the learning process. Children integrate concepts through structure, experimentation, success, and challenges. Assigning tasks appropriate to the individual child’s level of maturity can insure his or her ability to succeed in a relaxed and competent way, enhancing the child’s confidence and self-esteem.

Located within Temple B’nai Abraham, The Early School boasts expanded and renovated light-filled classrooms. Children also make use of the building’s large spaces for active programming and celebrations. The state-of-the-art Slater Family Playground offers a variety of outdoor activities in a beautiful and secure setting looking into the woods adjacent to the Temple building.
